ICOM Young Professional Travel Grant - ICOM-CC Recipient 2026

 

                                                                 

ICOM-CC is pleased to announce Dr. L. R. Nathael CANO BACA  as the recipient of the ICOM Young Professional Travel Grant to the 21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in Oslo, Norway (14-18 September 2026). This grant supports outstanding young professionals in the field of cultural heritage conservation, enabling them to share their research, connect with international peers, and contribute to global conservation dialogue. 

Dr. Nath Cano holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Art History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), an M.A. in Museology from ENCRyM-INAH, and a B.A. in Restoration from ECRO. With research and conservation experience spanning Mexico and France, Dr. Cano has worked with premier cultural institutions. His experience includes high-profile projects at the Sorbonne Sciences, CRC & UNESCO Headquarters Paris, National Museum of Art (MUNAL-INBAL), the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC-UNAM), the National Coordination for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage (CNCPC-INAH), and the landmark Templo Mayor archaeological rescue project. An active academic, he also teaches specialized seminars in modern art and panel painting restoration at ENCRyM-INAH and ECRO. Dr. Cano has served as Assistant Coordinator in the ICOM-CC Documentation Working Group from 2023-2026.

ICOM Young Professional Travel Grant - ICOM-CC Recipient 2023

 

ICOM-CC is pleased to announce that Dr. Md. Ali Nasir, guest faculity at the Museum Institute in New Delhi, India, has received the ICOM Young Professional Travel Grant as a member of ICOM-CC to attend the ICOM-CC 20th Triennial Conference in Valencia, Spain, in 2023.

Dr Nasir has been an active member of ICOM and ICOM-CC since 2016 and has served as an Assistant Coordinator in the Textiles Working Group from 2017 to 2023.
