If you will be in Sydney on Wednesday 10 September 2014 at 5:45 p.m., please plan on attending the lecture by Dr. Austin Nevin of the Italian National Research Council and the Milan Polytechnic University, which will be held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Centenary Theatre.
Dr Nevin will lecture on: "Novel insights into the conservation and technique of paintings using molecular spectroscopy and imaging: from Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Last Supper’ to a painting by Vincent Van Gogh".
Case studies and highlights of recent research range from 15th-century wall paintings by Masolino da Panicale and Leonardo da Vinci, to easel paintings with works by Veronese and Tintoretto, to a work on paper by Van Gogh.

The lecture is free and is a joint initiative of the ICOM-CC Working Group on Wood, Furniture and Lacquer and the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM) New South Wales.

(Nibbles and drinks post-lecture!)
